Calgary police have released an AI-generated image of a man whose body was found near the Bow River last year to assist in identifying him.

The deceased was discovered on the banks of the Bow near Memorial Drive and 10 Street N.W. shortly after 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 5, 2024.

An autopsy indicated that the death was not suspicious.

While police released a composite sketch of the man in May, efforts to identify him and locate his next of kin have not been successful.

On Friday, a new computer-generated image of the man was shared.

"While we make every effort to ensure that next of kin notifications happen in private settings, we also recognize the immense grief that comes with unanswered questions," police said. "Our commitment is to help families find the answers they deserve."

Police believe the man was between 55 and 70 years old at the time of his death, 6 feet tall (183 centimeters), and approximately 230 pounds (104 kilograms), with blond or grey hair, blue eyes, and some facial hair.

He was wearing brown hiking boots with orange and black soles when his body was found.

Anyone with information about the man's identity is asked to call the police at 403-266-1234. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
