On Saturday afternoon, we participated in a vibrant celebration with the Igbo Cultural Association of Newfoundland and Labrador, where we were treated to traditional music, dancing, crafts, and cuisine. This wonderful event provided a unique opportunity to learn about and appreciate the Igbo culture, and we are grateful for the warm hospitality extended to us.

On Friday night, we attended a welcome reception for the 2025 Canada Games and a Hall of Honour induction ceremony. This event was a chance to welcome visitors to our beautiful province, express our gratitude to everyone involved in organizing this significant sporting event, and congratulate the latest inductees into the Canada Games Hall of Honour. In my remarks, I emphasized the importance of creating a warm and welcoming environment for all visitors and locals alike, and I am confident that the next two weeks will be truly remarkable.

As a symbol of our support and enthusiasm for the 2025 Canada Games, Government House will be illuminated tonight and on select evenings during the Games in the colors of red, yellow, and blue.
