The meeting focused on the importance of unity and modernization within the Yoruba culture to ensure its preservation and appeal to younger generations, while also promoting it to the world through tourism and cultural patronage. The discussions emphasized the need to protect and uphold traditional Yoruba values and customs, as well as advocating for the liberation of the human race from mental slavery and the abolition of practices that restrict freedom and violate human rights. The Council also encouraged traditional rulers to adapt to civilization by updating any outdated practices that do not align with contemporary values.

The Oba of Iwo received the delegation alongside other notable Kings from the region, such as the Ologburo of Ogburo, Oloja of Agberire, and Olu of Akinleye. The Yoruba Council of Elders presented a gift to Oba Akanbi, who in turn donated three copies of his book, "Code of Kings," to the Council's Secretariat. This interaction underscores the commitment of the Yoruba traditional institution to fostering a progressive and inclusive society that honors its heritage while embracing the benefits of modernization and human rights.
