Former Prime Minister of Singapore, Lee Hsien Loong, Receives Honorary Companion of the Order of Australia (AC)

The Australian Government has recommended Mr. Lee Hsien Loong for eminent service to the bilateral relationship between Singapore and Australia.

Mr. Lee Hsien Loong, the former Prime Minister of Singapore, was presented with the insignia of an Honorary Companion of the Order of Australia (AC) by the Governor-General. This prestigious appointment acknowledges his significant contributions to transforming the Singapore-Australia relationship into a strategic and forward-thinking partnership in the region. The Governor-General expressed her gratitude to Mr. Lee for his role in strengthening the bond between the two nations.

The presentation coincided with the 60th anniversary of Singapore's independence, adding a special dimension to the event. Reflecting on the milestone, Mr. Lee expressed his hope for continued prosperity and understanding in the relationship over the next 60 years.
