"The Samaritans of Singapore (SOS) stands as a beacon of hope for individuals in crisis, providing a vital lifeline through their comprehensive mental health care and suicide prevention services. In a similar vein to Lifeline Australia, where the Governor-General serves as Patron, SOS offers a 24/7 helpline, expert counselling, outreach programs, community education, and advocacy initiatives. These efforts create a safe and supportive environment for those navigating hardship, offering a spark of light in times of darkness.

Recently, the Governor-General had the privilege of meeting with the dedicated SOS team, including Australian volunteers, to discuss their life-changing and life-saving work. This meeting served as an opportunity for our organisations to exchange knowledge and best practices, ultimately enhancing our collective support for the communities we serve.

The visit followed a meeting with Prime Minister Wong, who has been a steadfast Patron of SOS for the past decade. He commended the organisation's tireless efforts in providing lifesaving and life-changing support to those in need.
