Good Morning,

As of August 1st, 2025, a wildfire incident has been reported in the vicinity of Ross Peak within Glacier National Park. The blaze is believed to have been triggered by a lightning strike and is currently isolated in a remote area, posing no immediate threat to public safety or nearby infrastructure. The smoke from this fire can be seen from the Trans-Canada Highway.

Parks Canada has dispatched firefighting crews to monitor the situation closely. At present, the fire danger rating is categorized as low due to the favorable weather conditions that include rain in today's forecast and cooler temperatures expected in the upcoming week. This should assist in containing the fire and preventing its spread.

We kindly remind all park visitors and residents to adhere to fire bans and regulations strictly, and to report any signs of illegal campfires or suspicious smoke to the Parks Canada Emergency Dispatch at 403-762-4506. Your vigilance and adherence to safety measures are essential in helping us manage wildfire situations effectively.

Please be assured that we will continue to monitor the fire's development and provide updates as the situation evolves. For the latest information, you can visit our website or follow us on social media.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. Stay safe and enjoy the natural beauty of our parks responsibly.
