The incident occurred at Erlton Station around 11:45 p.m., with the assailants demanding the driver's phone. The driver managed to de-escalate the situation, and the 11-year-old suspect fled with some money. The Calgary Police Service (CPS) responded quickly, apprehending the group near 25 Avenue S.W. and Macleod Trail S. The 11-year-old was not charged due to being under the age of criminal responsibility, but was released to his parent's custody. Additionally, a 14-year-old girl and a 16-year-old girl were connected to a preceding liquor store robbery on 11 Avenue SW. The 14-year-old was charged with shoplifting and three counts of failure to comply with a release order, while charges are pending for the 16-year-old. Inspector Jason Bobrowich emphasized the importance of victim safety and praised the officers' swift response. He also highlighted the need for support for the teens and their families to prevent future incidents.
