EFCC Detains 47 Suspected Cybercriminals in Benin City On Thursday, July 31, 2025, operatives from the Benin Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) apprehended 47 individuals suspected of internet fraud at various locations throughout Benin City, Edo State.

The arrests followed reliable intelligence regarding their purported involvement in online fraudulent activities. Authorities recovered a total of 16 luxury vehicles and several mobile phones from the suspects. The suspects are expected to face legal charges once the investigation is finalized.
