A Call to Action: Supporting a Devastated Couple in Their Time of Need

This week has been an emotional rollercoaster, to say the least. As some of you may be aware, an incredible couple, close friends of ours, were involved in a devastating car accident in North Calgary last Monday morning. The news was nothing short of shocking, and we were left reeling as we struggled to come to terms with the severity of their injuries. Our dear friend, Jon, was fighting for his life, and we were uncertain if he would make it through the first night.

Miraculously, both Jon and his partner have undergone surgeries, but their journey to recovery is far from over. The road ahead will be long and arduous, with numerous medical expenses and other costs that will inevitably pile up. My husband, who has been friends with Jon since grade school, is still trying to process the devastating news.

It's a stark reminder that life can change in an instant. One moment, this vibrant couple was on the cusp of moving into their first home; the next, they were fighting for their lives. As they navigate this challenging time, we want to rally around them and offer our support.

To help alleviate some of the financial burdens, a GoFundMe campaign has been established to support the couple's medical expenses and other needs. You can contribute by visiting the link: https://www.gofundme.com/f/Temple-Crash-Victims-Need-Your-Help. Alternatively, you can e-transfer funds directly to the couple using the email address provided on the GoFundMe page.

This experience has taught me a valuable lesson: the importance of having multiple emergency contacts. Due to the couple's lack of additional contacts, it was a miracle that anyone was even notified of the accident in a timely manner.

As I've spent time at the hospital, I've unfortunately contracted a viral infection and am currently under the weather. I'm doing my best to recover quickly so that I can get back to work and continue supporting our friends during this difficult time.

I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone for their love, prayers, and support. Your kindness and generosity mean the world to us, and we're grateful for your presence in our lives. Let's come together to support this amazing couple as they face the long road to recovery.
