Congratulations to Brigadier-General William (Bill) Rideout on his promotion to his current rank, which took place on July 7th, 2025.

This significant milestone is a testament to his dedication and expertise within the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF). His new appointment as Director General Clinical Services, effective July 14, 2025, will surely benefit from his extensive experience in the medical field, particularly in his previous roles as Director General Health Services Operations, Deputy Chief of Staff HSO, and Director Medical Policy.

The presence of his wife Lesley and son Caleb at the ceremony underscores the importance of family support in a career as demanding as his. It's unfortunate that his other son, Cole, was unable to attend in person, but his spirit was surely present. We also extend our sincere appreciation to the outgoing Director General, Brigadier-General Colleen Forestier, for her more than 22 years of distinguished service. Her leadership and contributions to the CAF are greatly valued.
