Wildfire Alert for Town of Slave Lake and MD of Lesser Slave River

A wildfire alert has been issued for the Town of Slave Lake and the Municipal District (MD) of Lesser Slave River. This alert affects residents in the following areas:

Town of Slave Lake, including properties along Devonshire Road North
MD of Lesser Slave River, specifically the Hamlet of Marten Beach, Summerwood, TWPRD 740, and Gillwood Golf Course

A wildfire is currently burning northeast of the Town of Slave Lake and east of Highway 88. While no evacuation is required at this time, residents in the affected areas should prepare to evacuate within the following timeframes:

Town of Slave Lake, including properties along Devonshire Road North: 8 hours
MD of Lesser Slave River: 4 hours

To ensure your safety, please take the following steps:

Fuel your vehicles in preparation for potential evacuation
Gather essential items, including important documents, medication, and enough food and water to sustain you for at least 3 days
