Environment Canada has issued a third heat warning for Toronto as the city experiences back-to-back weekends of high temperatures. The heat warning is expected to last until Thursday, with daytime highs ranging from 29 C to 32 C and humidex values reaching 35 to 40. This extreme heat can impact everyone's health, so it's important to take precautions.

To help residents cope with the heat, the City of Toronto has extended the hours at several outdoor pools and designated certain civic buildings as cool spaces with extended hours. The Metro Hall lobby will be open 24/7 starting at 7 p.m. on Friday.

Here are the extended pool hours and participating locations:

- Alex Duff Memorial Pool
- Fairbank Memorial Pool
- McGregor Park Pool
- Monarch Park Pool
- North Toronto Memorial Community Centre Pool
- Smithfield Park Pool
- Sunnyside-Gus Ryder Outdoor Pool
- Halbert Park Pool (open until 9 p.m.)

Additional cool spaces include North York Civic Centre, Scarborough Civic Centre, Etobicoke Civic Centre, and East York Civic Centre, all operating from 8 a.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. weekends until 9:30 p.m.

To stay safe during this heat wave, residents are advised to:

- Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water
- Check on vulnerable individuals like the elderly, children, and those with health issues
- Limit outdoor activities during the hottest times of the day
- Seek shade and stay in air-conditioned spaces when possible
- Visit public cooling centers such as libraries and community centers

If you experience symptoms of heat-related illness, such as nausea, dizziness, intense fatigue, or confusion, take immediate action to cool down and seek medical attention if needed. Stay safe and enjoy the summer responsibly!
