The Ethiopian Armed Forces ranks among the most formidable military forces on the African continent. It operates with a defense budget exceeding $2 billion and comprises 162,000 active personnel, which includes 5,000 members of the Air Force and 10,000 from the Navy.

It is positioned as the 5th strongest military force.
