Steinbach RCMP respond to a plane crash

On July 8, 2025, at 8:45 AM, Steinbach RCMP received notification of a mid-air collision involving two planes in the Rural Municipality of Hanover.

RCMP, along with the fire department and emergency medical services, responded and found the wreckage of two small, single-engine aircraft located south of Steinbach.

Both pilots were pronounced dead at the scene. There were no passengers on board.

The Transportation Safety Board of Canada has been informed.

An investigation into the incident is currently underway.
