Larry Brook expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to accompany Sergeant Hare and the Calgary Police Service on a ride-along through the downtown area. During this experience, we visited various homeless shelters and engaged in discussions regarding the challenges that the CPS faces on the frontlines.

Officers from the CPS conveyed that drug-related issues and illegal weapons have become predominant in the calls they handle throughout the city. Every frontline officer he conversed with echoed the same sentiment: there is an urgent need for immediate bail reform to address the ongoing cycle of repeat violent offenders.

Additionally, Brook was able to visit the Calgary Drop-In Centre, where more than 1,000 men and women receive assistance each day, witnessing the essential work being carried out to aid those in need.

He extend his gratitude to Sgt. Hare for his exemplary leadership and for sharing these invaluable experiences with me.
