The incident took place in the northbound lanes, just south of the Bow Trail interchange, around 6:15 p.m. on Sunday, June 29. A southbound Toyota 4 Runner reportedly left the road, went through the median, and rolled into oncoming traffic before being struck by a northbound Dodge Caliber. The 25-year-old male driver of the 4 Runner was ejected from the vehicle and sadly pronounced dead at the scene after colliding with a large overhead directional sign. The female driver of the Caliber sustained serious life-threatening injuries, while a passenger in the same vehicle was treated for minor injuries.

Investigators are particularly interested in speaking with the drivers of two light-colored SUVs and one dark-colored SUV, who are believed to have witnessed the 4 Runner cross the median. These individuals are encouraged to come forward as they may possess crucial information that can assist in the ongoing investigation.

If you have any details regarding this incident, you are urged to contact the Calgary Police Service at 403-266-1234. Alternatively, you can submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
