"The High Commissioner, Julie Sunday, recently had the pleasure of visiting the esteemed Art Gallery of NSW, where she was warmly received by Director Maud Page. The primary focus of her visit was to explore three remarkable exhibitions that showcased the exceptional talent of First Nations artists from Australia, the Great Ocean region, and North America.

The first exhibition, 'High Colour', presented a vibrant collection of works by esteemed artists from diverse backgrounds, including Sonny Assu (Ligwilda'xw of the Kwakwaka'wakw Nations), Caroline Monnet (Anishinaabe), Dana Claxton (Lakota), and Joi T. Arcand (Muskeg Lake Cree Nation) from Canada. The High Commissioner was impressed by the rich cultural heritage and artistic prowess on display.

In addition to 'High Colour', HC Sunday also had the opportunity to view 'Yolŋu Power: the art of Yirrkala', which celebrates the creative output of First Nations artists from north-east Arnhem Land. Furthermore, she explored 'The Mulka Project: Yalu in the Tank', another captivating exhibition that highlights the innovative spirit of Indigenous artists.

The High Commissioner would like to extend her gratitude to the Art Gallery of NSW for hosting her and providing an enriching experience. The exhibitions serve as a testament to the importance of promoting cultural diversity and celebrating the achievements of Indigenous artists."
