A key aspect of the Governor-General's responsibilities involves meeting with Ambassadors and High Commissioners prior to their overseas assignments or upon their return to Australia for mid-term consultations.

These gatherings provide a chance to discuss Australia's strategic foreign policy goals, gain insights into the progress of bilateral relationships, and offer support to our representatives abroad who are dedicated to enhancing diplomatic connections.
