The Centre for Military, Security and Strategic Studies (CMSS) at the University of Calgary recently honored the accomplishments of four esteemed alumni who have made notable contributions to the security sector. On April 23, 2025, a panel discussion led by current MSS student Alex Hardwicke convened Mercedes Stephenson (BA'03, MSS'15), Ty Curran (MSS'06), Carina Huggins (BA'06, MSS'10), and Marshall Horne (MSS'09) to discuss their experiences and insights.
These exceptional individuals have pursued remarkable careers in security-related fields, from journalism and government to law enforcement and corporate security. Their accomplishments are a testament to the valuable education and training provided by CMSS, and we are honored to have them as part of our community.

As leaders in their respective fields, our alumni are making a profound impact in addressing the complex security challenges facing Canada and the world. We are proud to recognize their achievements and acknowledge the important role they play in shaping our country's response to an increasingly volatile global environment."
