The subsequent investigation by the Calgary Police Service led to the northbound-to-westbound exit ramp being blocked, with YYC Transportation advising of the closure. The entire northbound Stoney Trail was also shut down following the incident to allow for emergency vehicles and crews to attend to the scene and clear the area. The cause of the crash was still being determined as of 9:30 p.m., with road closures still in place to facilitate the ongoing investigation. CTV news reporting
