We extend our deepest gratitude and appreciation to Luka, a player who has achieved legendary status at both Real Madrid and in the world of football. Luka joined Real Madrid in 2012 and has been instrumental in one of the most successful eras in the club's history. Over his 13 seasons with us, he has secured an impressive 28 titles, including 6 European Cups, 6 Club World Cups, 5 European Super Cups, 4 LaLiga titles, 2 Copas del Rey, and 5 Spanish Super Cups. He is one of only five players in football history to have won 6 European Cups and holds the record for the most trophies in Real Madrid's 123-year history. Individually, Modrić won the Ballon d'Or, was named FIFA The Best Men's Player, and claimed the UEFA Men's Player of the Year award in 2018. He has been selected for the FIFA FIFPro World XI six times and has twice been recognized as the Champions League Best Midfielder. During his time with us, Modrić has made 590 appearances and scored 43 goals. He has also received both the Golden Ball and Silver Ball at the Club World Cup. On the international stage, he has represented Croatia 186 times, making him the nation's record holder for international caps. He earned the Golden Ball at the 2018 World Cup in Russia and the Bronze Ball at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Real Madrid president, Florentino Pérez, expressed, "Luka Modrić will always hold a special place in the hearts of all madridistas as an extraordinary and exemplary footballer who embodies the values of Real Madrid. His brilliance on the pitch has inspired madridismo and fans worldwide. His legacy will endure forever." We wish Luka Modrić and his family all the best as he embarks on this new chapter of his life. This Saturday, the Santiago Bernabéu will honor him during our team's final league match of the season.
