DOJ-ARTA foster ties to streamline services pursuant to the Government's Ease of Doing Business

In celebration of the country's Ease of Doing Business (EODB) initiative this May, the Department of Justice-Committee on Anti-Red Tape (DOJ-CART) convened a strategic meeting with the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) on May 7, 2025. The discussion focused on strategies to streamline the Department's services and enhance compliance with regulatory requirements. Undersecretary Margarita N. Gutierrez led the DOJ-CART in an engaging dialogue with ARTA Director General Ernesto V. Perez and his senior management team. This collaboration is part of the Bagong Pilipinas government's efforts under President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to elevate the quality of public services offered to the Filipino populace.

While the DOJ, as the State's key prosecution entity and legal advisor, is not directly within ARTA's jurisdiction, it remains committed to improving other frontline services and making public transactions more accessible and convenient. The meeting also addressed the Department's ten attached agencies, focusing on enhancing the complaint referral system. Director General Perez praised the Department's EODB initiatives, particularly the drafting of a Memorandum Circular aimed at harmonizing the guidelines for implementing Republic Act 11032, known as the "Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018," specifically for the National Prosecution Service. He also noted the Department's plans to launch an Online Payment System.

"ARTA applauds Secretary Jesus Crispin 'Boying' C. Remulla for his leadership in advancing government service delivery, especially in the justice sector," Director General Perez stated. Secretary Remulla expressed gratitude for ARTA's ongoing support and guidance, stating, "Thank you for being our steadfast ally in delivering Real Justice in Real Time. Let us continue to strengthen our partnership for the benefit of our citizens." #DOJPH #BagongPilipinas
