On Tuesday, May 06, a team of officers from the Specialised Operations Special Weapons and Tactics unit confiscated various uncustomed goods and a significant amount of cash during an operation in the Berry Dale District of Manchester. Reports indicate that around 3:00 a.m., law enforcement officials executed a search warrant at a local premises, resulting in the recovery of 6,620 counterfeit cigarette sticks, five pounds of marijuana, twenty-one 5-gallon bottles of rum, two additional 5-litre bottles of rum, and over $124,000.00 JMD in cash.

The estimated street value of the seized cigarettes is approximately $330,000.00 JMD. One individual has been arrested in connection with the seizure, although his identity is being withheld as the investigation continues. These items were confiscated due to suspected violations of the Customs Act. The police are urging anyone with information regarding this seizure to reach out to Narcotics Headquarters at 876-923-5729, the 119 Police Emergency number, Crime Stop at 311, or their nearest police station.
