Today, a permanent tribute to the significant sacrifices made by numerous Canadians throughout our history to safeguard our nation and uphold our values was inaugurated in Bradford West Gwillimbury.

This unveiling is particularly timely as it coincides with the 80th Anniversary of the Allied Victory in Europe during the Second World War and the 15th anniversary of Bradford's own Sapper Brian Collier's deployment to Afghanistan alongside his fellow soldiers.

As time progresses and the number of veterans from past conflicts diminishes, it becomes increasingly vital to seek out opportunities to honor their contributions and share their narratives, particularly for the benefit of younger generations of Canadians. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our First Responders present today and to the men and women of the Canadian Armed Forces.
