This announcement signifies a crucial advancement in preparations for the tournament, which will be the inaugural Women's World Cup hosted in South America. The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) initially proposed twelve cities as potential hosts, but FIFA has chosen eight based on their existing infrastructure and facilities, all of which had previously served as venues during the 2014 FIFA Men's World Cup.
The selected cities and their respective stadiums are as follows: Belo Horizonte - Estádio Mineirão; Brasília - Estádio Nacional; Fortaleza - Arena Castelão; Porto Alegre - Estádio Beira-Rio; Recife - Arena de Pernambuco; Rio de Janeiro - Estádio do Maracanã; Salvador - Arena Fonte Nova; and São Paulo - Arena Itaquera. "The host cities selected by FIFA are equipped with modern stadiums and training facilities to accommodate players and fans from around the globe," stated an official. "They also boast a robust hotel network and efficient urban infrastructure, including mobility systems, security measures, and public services, thus providing the essential requirements for an event of this scale." While the host cities have been confirmed, FIFA has yet to disclose which city and stadium will host the much-anticipated final match. However, the legendary Estádio do Maracanã in Rio de Janeiro, known for hosting the men's World Cup finals in 1950 and 2014, remains a strong candidate.

The FIFA Women's World Cup 2027, featuring 32 teams from around the world, is set to take place from June 24 to July 25, 2027, across these eight Brazilian cities. This will mark a historic first for the tournament being held in South America, representing a significant milestone in the global advancement and development of women's football.
