This move is a response to the positive reception of the route on both sides of the Pacific and follows an earlier increase to daily service during the 2025 summer schedule. The airline expects this expansion to boost the tourism industry in Western Canada and enhance its connectivity to Asia. Additionally, WestJet has expanded its codeshare agreement with Japan Airlines, providing guests with more convenient access to Osaka (Itami) and Nagoya via seamless connections in Tokyo. This development allows for a single ticket purchase with WestJet, inclusive of baggage transfers and the opportunity to earn WestJet Dollars throughout the trip.
