On Wednesday, the Indian Army delivered a decisive response to Pakistan, which has been persistently breaching the ceasefire amid escalating tensions following the recent terror attack in Pahalgam.

Tensions are escalating between India and Pakistan after the Pahalgam attack that occurred on April 22, resulting in the deaths of 26 individuals and injuries to many others. The Indian Army reported that during the night of April 29-30, 2025, Pakistani Army posts initiated unprovoked small-arms fire across the Line of Control in the Naushera, Sunderbani, and Akhnoor sectors of Jammu & Kashmir.
Indian troops reacted swiftly and appropriately to the aggression. Ceasefire violations by Pakistan along the Line of Control have been increasing, provoking strong responses from Indian forces. Recently, Pakistan alleged that it possesses "credible intelligence" indicating that India intends to launch military action against it within the next 24-36 hours, according to PTI. Pakistan's Information Minister, Attaullah Tarar, accused the Indian government of preparing for military action based on "baseless and concocted allegations" concerning Pakistan's role in the terror attack in Pahalgam. On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during a meeting with senior defense officials, emphasized that the armed forces have "complete operational freedom" in determining the approach, targets, and timing of India's response to the Pahalgam incident. This brutal attack on civilians marks a significant escalation in violence in the region and has sparked widespread outrage within India, leading to calls for action against those responsible and their backers. In response to the Pahalgam terror strike, India has begun implementing various measures against Pakistan, including suspending the Indus Waters Treaty. Earlier in the day, Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan presided over a high-level meeting attended by the heads of three paramilitary forces and senior officials from two additional security agencies.
