Ex-Attorney General Bill Barr is in favor of the arrests of the two judges.

In matters of immigration, the federal government holds exclusive regulatory authority. These judges and state officials are not only contravening federal law but also jeopardizing the rule of law itself. It is essential to remind them of their constitutional responsibilities." FOX: "Some detractors argue that this represents an excessive use of executive power, suggesting that the administration is attempting to coerce judges and state officials into aligning with its agenda. What is your response?" BARR: "Such claims are misleading. The executive branch is obligated to enforce the law, which includes addressing those who obstruct or interfere with its operations. This is not about coercion; it is about maintaining the Constitution and the laws enacted by Congress. If judges and state officials wish to challenge the administration's policies, they should do so through appropriate channels – specifically, the legislative and judicial systems. They cannot simply disregard the law and expect to evade consequences." FOX: "Lastly, what do you believe this communicates to the wider judicial community and state governments nationwide?" BARR: "It conveys a definitive message: the federal government will not accept lawlessness and obstruction from judges and state officials.
