In a remarkable show of diplomacy and strong regional camaraderie, Prime Minister Honourable Sitiveni Rabuka was granted the highest ceremonial Guard of Honour upon his arrival at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta, Indonesia, this morning. The Prime Minister was warmly greeted by His Excellency the President of Indonesia, General (retired) Prabowo Subianto, who extended full state honors, which included a military parade, cavalry troops, and primary school students proudly waving the national flags of both nations.

During the inspection of the Guard, alongside President Subianto, ceremonial drums resounded, complemented by a 19-gun salute and the national anthems of Fiji and Indonesia echoing throughout the palace grounds. This grand event celebrated the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Fiji and Indonesia.
