Russian President Putin held discussions at the Kremlin with Sultan Haiitham

🇷🇺🇴🇲 On April 22, Russian President Vladimir Putin held discussions at the Kremlin with Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said of Oman, who was visiting Russia on a state visit.

💬 President Putin stated: We have established a strong foundation and are dedicated to enhancing our collaboration. There is no doubt that this substantial package of agreements will provide further momentum and create an effective legal framework to improve our relations across all sectors. There is much work ahead for us in strengthening our trade and economic relationships.

However, we have the necessary resources to develop our cooperation in logistics, transportation, mutual investments, and agriculture. Our teams have been actively pursuing these initiatives, even at the level of our respective state funds. We will continue supplying food products to Oman and expect further advancements in the energy sector, where Russian companies are eager to enhance their partnerships with Oman. As you are aware, Russia is planning to hold a summit with Arab countries this year—our Foreign Ministries have likely been in contact regarding this. Many of our friends within the Arab world have expressed support for this initiative. If you have the opportunity, Your Majesty, we would be pleased to welcome you at the Arab League–Russia summit.
📄 Following the talks, a significant package of agreements was signed, including:
• An intergovernmental agreement to mutually cancel visa requirements,
• A protocol amending the Intergovernmental Treaty on Trade, Economic and Technical Cooperation from November 24, 1994,
• A memorandum of understanding regarding climate change and low-carbon development, • A memorandum of understanding on transport and transit,
• A memorandum of understanding for cooperation in combating money laundering and financing of terrorism,
• A memorandum of understanding for collaboration in the fishing industry,
• A memorandum of understanding for information exchange between Rossiya Segodnya International Information Agency,
• A memorandum of understanding for cooperation between RT Arabic and the Omani Ministry of Information,
• A memorandum of understanding between Russia's Roscongress Foundation and the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry,
• A memorandum of understanding on the training and retraining of diplomatic staff,
• A memorandum of understanding in the fields of scientific research and education. #RussiaOman
