On Tuesday, firefighters from Calgary successfully rescued several pets during a house fire on Glenmount Drive S.W. Crews were dispatched to the scene around 2:30 a.m. Thankfully, an adult and two small children managed to escape the burning home without assistance. Upon their arrival, the Calgary Fire Department (CFD) noticed considerable smoke pouring from the front of the house. Inside, flames had engulfed the living areas of the single-storey residence, filling the space with thick smoke. Firefighters located two dogs and a guinea pig within the house; they performed lifesaving measures on one of the dogs, successfully reviving it, while the other dog and the guinea pig were reported unharmed. The revived dog was later taken to a veterinarian by Calgary police. Due to extensive smoke and fire damage throughout the house, the CFD has declared the home uninhabitable. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
