Authorities report that at least four individuals have been hospitalized following a shooting at Wilmer-Hutchins High School in Dallas on Tuesday afternoon.

Police have not disclosed the identity of the suspect or whether any arrests have been made. The Dallas Police Department responded to the shooting shortly after 1 p.m. at the school, situated at 5500 Langdon Road. One student recounted to CBS News Texas that she heard seven gunshots. By approximately 2:20 p.m., law enforcement confirmed that there was no ongoing threat and that security measures had been implemented at the school. According to the Dallas Fire Department, at least two victims sustained gunshot wounds, but their injuries are currently believed to be non-life-threatening. Three victims were transported to Baylor Scott & White Health, while another was taken to Methodist Hospital Dallas in Oak Cliff.

Law enforcement sources indicated to CBS News Texas that a student is being sought in connection with the alleged gunfire on campus. Aerial footage revealed a significant presence of emergency services and Dallas police surrounding the school, with ATF agents also on the scene. Students were seen evacuating the campus and moving toward the school's stadium, where around 900 students were present on Tuesday. The Dallas Independent School District (DISD) confirmed that all students and staff at Wilmer-Hutchins High School were safe and were being reunited with their families at Eagle Stadium.

No official information has been released regarding the suspect or further details about the incident; however, DISD Police stated that the firearm did not enter the campus during regular intake, indicating that there was no breach in their protocols or systems. Dallas ISD Superintendent Stephanie Elizalde announced that classes at Wilmer-Hutchins will be canceled for the remainder of the week and that mental health support will be available for students and staff.
