Air Canada has proudly inaugurated its inaugural direct flight to the Philippines. To celebrate this significant achievement, passengers aboard Air Canada's first Flight AC17 on April 3, 2025, received a heartfelt Filipino welcome. Juanita Bayaras, a warm greeting to you as well!


The Philippines welcomes its newest airline. Air Canada has commenced direct flights to Vancouver three times a week, entering into competition with the national carrier, Philippine Airlines, on this profitable route.

The inaugural flight, Air Canada flight 17, utilized a 298-seat Boeing 787 Dreamliner, featuring one of the airline's special 'Congratulations' livery. It landed on Manila's runway 06 at 5:55 AM local time, perfectly timed with the sunrise. A traditional water cannon salute greeted the aircraft as it arrived at the gate, and reports indicate that the atmosphere onboard was quite celebratory!
