Spain has officially announced a monthly non-contributory benefit of €564.7 for housewives, set to take effect in 2025. This initiative aims to support millions of women who dedicated their lives to raising families without financial compensation.

Women aged 65 and older, who have not contributed to Social Security but meet specific residency and income criteria, will finally receive acknowledgment and a safety net.

The annual benefit totals €7,905, distributed across 14 payments, including two additional payments in July and December, similar to public-sector pensions.

It is important to note that this benefit is not automatically granted, and individuals receiving another pension will be ineligible. Nevertheless, for many, this represents a long-overdue recognition of years of unrecognized labor.
