As Patron of Playgroup Australia, the Governor-General visited Southern Cross Early Childhood School in Scullin, where this year's National Playgroup Week theme, 'The Power of Playgroups' was so warmly evident.    Established in 1984, Playgroup Australia is a not-for-profit, that aims for every child and family in Australia to have access. With over 35,000 children, parents and carers participating each week nationwide, they empower families, nurturing development of young children and build lifelong friendships.

"GG Sam" shared with the group how important playgroup was to her own family, and was delighted to meet the children, parents, grandparents, carers and Playgroup staff, painting, playing, and taking part in singing and story time.    With thanks to the passionate staff, radiating their care, kindness and respect throughout the Playgroup community, including CEO Patricia O'Donovan, Carley Jones, Cynthia and Steff.    @actplaygroups @playgroupaus #nationalplaygroupweek2025 #nationalplaygroupweek
