Communications aimed at bolstering the Philippine government's ability to navigate the changing information landscape. This course was held from February 25 to 28, 2025, in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, with additional online sessions planned for March 7 and 12, 2025. The training provided NSC officials and members of the Information Working Group of the National Task Force for the West Philippine Sea (NTF-WPS) with advanced techniques in narrative development, behavioral science, hybrid threats, and discourse formulation. Under the guidance of Assistant Director General Jonathan E. Malaya and Assistant Director General Cornelio H. A key focus of the program was addressing coercive influence operations in the Indo-Pacific region, especially in the West Philippine Sea, through proactive strategic communication. Experts addressed various challenges, including AI-driven disinformation, hybrid warfare strategies, and authoritarian control of information, stressing the need for a comprehensive approach to information security involving both government and society. To underline the significance of crisis communications in national security, the course commenced with a film screening on February 24, 2025, at Sine Pop in Quezon City. Participants represented a wide array of government agencies, including the National Security Council, Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine Coast Guard, Philippine Navy, Philippine National Police, Department of Foreign Affairs, DILG Philippines, Presidential Communications Office, Philippine Information Agency, National Maritime Council, and the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict. As the Philippines enhances its strategic messaging and maritime security initiatives, the insights gained from this course will support government efforts to combat disinformation, influence public discourse, and protect national interests. #NSCPhilippines #StrategicCommunications #WestPHSea
