City of Calgary's Transit Safety personnel to conduct underground patrols

Our officers collaborated with the City of Calgary's Transit Safety personnel to conduct underground patrols in response to reports of encampments and damage to infrastructure within the tunnels. On this occasion, the area was found to be clear.

However, while responding to a nearby station, officers successfully rescued an individual who had fallen onto the CTrain tracks from an elevated platform during train operations.

During the patrol, one individual received citations for three bylaw violations and loitering on transit property. He provided the officers with details regarding his recent hardships and expressed gratitude for their professionalism. The officers facilitated his connection to support services and recommended him for Community Court.

Our objective is to achieve interoperability and compassionate accountability for a #SaferCalgary.
