Alberta is joining forces with other Premiers to urgently request a First Ministers meeting with the Prime Minister. The aim is to address the escalating trade dispute with the U.S. as soon as possible.

We also urge all Premiers and the federal government to respond to these unwarranted U.S. tariffs thoughtfully and proportionately.

The livelihoods of millions of Canadians hang in the balance, and it's our responsibility to find a resolution that leads to the removal of all tariffs on both sides of the border promptly.

This week, I've been in Houston engaging with U.S. Administration officials and leaders from the energy sector. It's clear that there's a strong desire among everyone we've talked to for a peaceful resolution to this trade dispute. They are eager to resolve any lingering trade issues and restore a cooperative trade relationship that benefits both nations.

Tomorrow, I'll be convening with the Council of the Federation to discuss this situation further. I'll be advocating for a thoughtful and proportional approach moving forward, emphasizing the importance of de-escalating the conflict for both parties involved.
