A 16-year-old boy was fatally shot in the vicinity of a Tube station in South London.

A 16-year-old male has tragically lost his life following a shooting incident in south London, as reported by the Metropolitan Police.

The young individual was declared deceased at the scene on Paradise Road, close to Stockwell Tube station, after authorities received reports of the shooting around 14:30 GMT on Tuesday.

Investigations are underway to confirm the identity of the victim and to notify his family. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.

Superintendent Gabriel Cameron expressed condolences, stating, "Our thoughts are with the young boy's family during this devastating time." He further remarked, "This incident is profoundly shocking and is likely to cause significant distress within the local community."

Local law enforcement is actively collecting CCTV footage and interviewing witnesses to reconstruct the events surrounding the shooting.

Florence Eshalomi, the Member of Parliament for Vauxhall Camberwell Green, expressed her sorrow regarding the fatal incident, labeling it as "a life wasted."

A police cordon and road closures remain in effect following this incident, which marks the third homicide in the capital involving an individual under the age of 25 this year.
