SPORT:I delivered a lot of assists – Ozil opens up on relationship with Ronaldo

Former Germany  international  Mesut  Özil  has  recalled  his  almost  telepathic understanding with  Portuguese  icon  Cristiano Ronaldo on the  pitch  during  his  time  at Real  Madrid.
 
 
  Ronaldo and  Özil  played together for three full seasons at Real Madrid before the former midfielder  moved  to  Arsenal in the summer of 2013.
 
  They shared the  field  for 149 games  and  both players  scored  39  goals  with  Ronaldo  scoring  32 of them.

  During  that  period  they won three titles together, including one  in  La Liga.
 
  During  those three  seasons  Ronaldo  made  a total of 164  appearances,  scoring  an  astonishing  168 goals in 164 games  in  all  competitions,  scoring  at least 53  goals  in each  season.
 
  Özil  has since retired from active football and  has  now  spoken  about his  understanding  on  the  pitch  with the Portuguese football icon.
 
 
  According  to Madrid Xtra,  he  said:  "Cristiano  Ronaldo understood me very well on the pitch.
 
  "I  gave  him a lot of  assists  and he  scored  a lot of goals. "
