The Independent  Commission on Corrupt Practices and Related Offences (ICPC) has secured the conviction of Mr. Mohammed Idris, a  gate supervisor at the Hajj and  Transport Terminal of the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos, for making false  statements and  corruptly using his advantage.

In a two-count  case, ICPC  lawyer, Yvonne Williams-Mbata,  presented evidence before the court on how the investigation  revealed a total loss of N11,234,000 under the supervision and  monitoring of the accused between February 2001 and April  2021.
His offence is contrary to  sections 26(1)(b) and 25(1) of the Corrupt Practices and Related Offences Act,  2000.
Justice O.A., in  his ruling, sentenced the accused to  one year imprisonment on each count in lieu of a fine of  N1,000,000. The sentences  will run  concurrently.
