Rebuilding the Lake Chad Basin: Consolidating Gains

With the theme "Rebuilding the Lake Chad Basin: Consolidating Gains, Commitment to Peace, Cross-Border Cooperation, Security, & Sustainable Development for a Resilient Community," the 5th Lake Chad Basin Governors' Forum got underway in Maiduguri today. Among other things, the discussion aims to improve knowledge of the region's current security and humanitarian trends and their implications for ongoing efforts to restore state authority in the area.
