Special counsel Jack Smith resigned Friday after completing  his investigative  report on President-elect Donald Trump, the Justice Department  revealed Saturday, as the agency works to release Smith's reports.
Former President Donald Trump  was indicted in the impeachment inquiry on Jan. 6,
the Justice Department  announced
his resignation over legal matters.
