🚨🇰🇷 WHAT WE KNOW SO FAR ABOUT  THE SOUTH  KOREA AIRLINES
The plane involved in the crash was a Boeing 737-800  operated by Korean airline Jeju  Air.
The plane crashed at Muan International Airport shortly after 09:00 local  time.
A bird strike  is believed to have caused a problem with the landing gear,  forcing the pilots to  attempt to land the plane  without the gear  deployed.
There were 181 people on board the  plane. Of  these, 177 have been confirmed  dead and 2 crew members  have been taken to hospital.  So far, 22 people have been  identified. A temporary morgue  was set up  while families of the victims  gathered at the  airport.
Most of the passengers on board were South  Korean, with the exception of  two Thai  nationals.
The ages of the passengers  ranged from 3 to  78, but  the majority were in their 40s, 50s and 60s.
