Bill C-26 is a dystopian surveillance and censorship bill that targets Canadians' personal information. Additionally, this bill gives ministers the authority to spy on people and to intentionally target people without the subject's knowledge. If you are pushed offline, even for a wholly false reason, you also have no financial remedy. The government wants us to think that this badly drafted bill won't be used for evil things, yet it actually permits that. Why would the Liberals want to pass something that could just as well target all of them, given that they are expected to lose badly in the next election?
