Sweden is encouraging people to stockpile food and water by distributing 5.2 million "If Crisis or War Comes" leaflets to households.

Updated to reflect contemporary threats, the leaflet declares, "We will never give up."

Both nations have increased defences after joining NATO in reaction to Russia's 2022 invasion of Ukraine, and Finland has started a similar readiness campaign.

NATO airplanes are currently keeping a careful eye on the increasing activity near Ukraine as Swedish officials warn of possible Russian assault.
