According to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, a Chinese national who tore Naira notes in Lagos is the subject of an investigation.

This was confirmed to our correspondent on Friday by EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale.

The incident reportedly happened at a Chinese-owned business on the Lekki-Epe Expressway when Lagos State Government representatives showed up to close the establishment due to suspected legal infractions.

The Chinese national was seen thwarting the authorities' attempts to close the business in a widely shared video.
