ELECTRONIC POSTS ABROAD ARE WON BY MORE NIGERIANS

Four additional Nigerians have been elected to a variety of elective seats overseas. Born in Nigeria, Dr. Oye Owolewa is from the District of Columbia in Chiaka Barry, Ginninderra District, Australia, and Yemi Mobolade is from Segun Adeyina, Georgia, USA.

In a letter of congratulations sent by Abdur-Rahman Balogun, Director of Media, Public Relations, and Protocols, NIDCOM Chairman/CEO Abike Dabiri-Erewa praised them for setting norms and breaking such records in the political sphere of their respective communities.

According to the announcement, Chiaka Barry was elected to the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) Legislative Assembly, which covers the Ginninderra District, on behalf of the Liberal Party, and Dr. Oye Owolewa was re-elected as the Democratic Party's Shadow Representative for the District of Columbia.
In 2023, Adeyemi Mobolade became the first Black person to be elected Mayor of Colorado Springs, and Segun Adeyina was re-elected as State Representative of District 110, Georgia, USA.

Dabiri-Erewa urged them to maintain the resilient attitude as they do their different responsibilities and praised their unwavering efforts and drive for success.

It states that the NIDCOM Chairman and CEO prayed for guidance, protection, and strength in their new roles and urged them to keep doing their best work in carrying out their responsibilities.

On the Democratic Party's platform, pharmacist Dr. Oye Owolewa was re-elected as the District of Columbia's shadow representative in the United States.
Chiaka Barry is a seasoned attorney with outstanding and varied abilities in legislation drafting, alternative conflict resolution, and litigation.

For his part, Segun Adeyina has held numerous high-ranking roles in Georgia and has over 25 years of experience managing IT programs and projects for Fortune 500 companies in a variety of industries.
Conversely, Nigerian-American politician and businessman Adeyemi Mobolade was elected as Colorado Springs, USA's 42nd mayor.

Being the first Black person elected to that office, the election has been referred to as historic in Colorado Springs.Not a valid attachment ID.
