NEW: A mother narrates her son's last moments before he was carried away by hurricane Helene's floodwaters, and the Fox weather anchor breaks down in tears on live television.

The mother said her son's last words on Earth were him calling out for Jesus.

When the surging water carried Micah, then 7 years old, and his grandparents away from their Asheville, North Carolina home, they were sitting on the roof.

"My son didn't scream for me in his final moments, which makes me incredibly proud of him. All he could say was, "Jesus, Jesus, save me." Jesus. You are heard. Jesus. I'm addressing you.

"Being a superhero was his dream. And it was his life's purpose. Rather, he is my hero. He was the most intelligent, boldest, most optimistic, best friend, and son."

"My son is the best I could have asked for. And he was so cheerful up until the very end when he was shouting for Jesus. And I believe he felt delight at that precise time."
