Live of Pierre Poilievre broadcasting live: "LIVE: Six months have passed, and the decision has been made"

As Canadians, we strive for a country where everyone can thrive, regardless of their background or the party they voted for. The promise of double streets, safe borders, and a united front under our proud flag is something we all aspire to. In the spirit of collaboration, we worked with the Liberal government during the spring session to pass bills that aligned with our values, despite our differences. Our goal was to contribute to the country's success, even if it meant putting aside our partisan interests.

However, as we move forward, it is essential to scrutinize the promises made by Mr. Carney and compare them to the actual results. The rhetoric must match the reality. Let's examine his promises one by one. He pledged to deliver the fastest-growing economy in the G7, but instead, we have the fastest-shrinking economy, with the second-highest unemployment rate, soaring household debt, and unaffordable housing. These are not the outcomes Canadians voted for.

Mr. Carney said he would be judged by the prices at the grocery store, but the reality is that food prices continue to rise, and the cost of living is becoming increasingly unaffordable. He promised to "build, build, build," but his record shows a pattern of obstruction, with homebuilding declining by 13% and permits being slowed down by bureaucratic red tape. The solution to affordable housing is not to create another layer of bureaucracy but to streamline the process, incentivize municipalities, and encourage investment in new homes.

The promise of nation-building projects at "unimaginable speeds" has not materialized, with not a single new project being approved in six months. The display of announcements and referrals to new bureaucracies is nothing more than a smokescreen, distracting from the lack of tangible progress. The elbows-up approach has given way to elbows-down, with the Prime Minister backing down time and again, achieving nothing in return. The negotiations with the Americans have yielded no results, and the tariffs have doubled since the Prime Minister took office, contrary to his promises.

The deficit spending has increased, and the investment landscape is bleak, with a record net outflow of $62 billion in just five months. The cost of living, unemployment, housing, divisions, tariffs, crime, and immigration – all these metrics are worse than they were before. This is not what Canadians voted for. The Liberal government's bait-and-switch tactics, saying one thing and doing the opposite, have become all too familiar.

We will not give up, though. We will work tirelessly to turn things around, collaborating with anyone from any party who shares our vision for a better Canada. We propose real solutions to the problems created by the Liberal government, such as taking the GST off home purchases up to $1.3 million, eliminating the capital gains tax for investments in new home construction, and capping immigration to ensure we can build homes faster than people arrive. Our mission is to make Canada stronger and more united, with a focus on affordable homes, safer streets, solid borders, and a self-reliant economy.

We aim to restore the promise of Canada, where hard work is rewarded, homes and food are affordable, streets are safe, and our flag flies proudly. We will get to work, and we invite all Canadians to join us in this effort. Together, we can build a brighter future, one where everyone can thrive and prosper. Thank you.
